Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P and L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction.

The Role
As a Web Developer Intern, you will operate as a member of a fully remote team, focusing on the technical side of our advisory work. The environment is one of technical discipline and intellectual honesty, where code is expected to be as reliable as the financial models it houses. You will spend your time translating complex economic requirements into straightforward web interfaces that provide our clients with a clear view of their portfolio performance. This position is a chance to see how data visualization and web tools function in the context of high stakes financial decision making.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of internal web applications used for financial modeling.
  • Writing clean and functional HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to update client facing data dashboards.
  • Helping to build out new features for our reporting tools that track fintech sector metrics.
  • Participating in code reviews to ensure all web elements align with our standards for accuracy.
  • Collaborating with our analysts to understand how back end data should be displayed for the best user experience.
  • Testing web tools across different browsers to ensure consistent performance for our remote team and clients.
  • Documenting technical components and workflows to help maintain our internal knowledge base.
  • Troubleshooting basic front end issues and implementing fixes to improve site navigation.

What You Bring

  • A basic understanding of front end web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Foundational knowledge of web design principles, specifically an interest in data visualization.
  • A pursuing or recently completed degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related technical field.
  • Comfort working in a fully remote environment where clear written communication is vital.
  • A methodical approach to solving problems and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Curiosity about how businesses operate and a willingness to learn about financial concepts.
  • The ability to follow technical instructions closely and ask clarifying questions when needed.

What We Offer

  • The ability to work from anywhere in this fully remote position.
  • Direct access to senior principals who value technical logic and evidence based results.
  • Practical experience working on projects for a major international fintech group.
  • A professional environment that prioritizes discipline and clarity over corporate jargon.
  • Exposure to the intersection of finance and technology in a real world setting.
  • A paid internship with a competitive and attractive rate for the current market.

At Blue Oak Consulting, we believe that simple, functional technology is the best way to present complicated financial truths. We do not hide behind complex language, and we expect our code to follow the same principle of transparency and functionality. This role is a chance to learn how to build technology that serves a clear purpose: helping businesses make better, more disciplined decisions through data clarity.
