About Acasus:

Acasus helps governments help people.

We are a consultancy delivering transformational reforms in health and education. Having built a reputation in dynamic, and often challenging, countries and contexts, we believe in making brave change.

Acasus undertakes high-profile projects in an expanding group of countries, including Pakistan, Chad, the DRC, Mozambique, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and Nigeria. Join us if you want the opportunity to do the same.

How will you make an impact?

As a Project Finance Intern, you will support our global operations by maintaining financial integrity and project-tracking dashboards. By ensuring seamless financial processes, you directly enable our consulting teams to deliver vital healthcare and education reforms across low- and middle-income countries.

We encourage EU nationals studying at Hungarian higher education institutions to apply.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze project expense data to update core financial dashboards and manage vital supporting documentation.
  • Optimize resource tracking by splitting and allocating routine central expenses across global projects using advanced data tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Plan and execute the monthly invoicing pipeline, including compiling schedules, establishing deliverables, and generating draft invoices on Google Sheets.
  • Update project placements in Salesforce on a monthly basis, collaborating closely with Project Directors (PDs) and Project Managers (PMs) to review data before check-in calls.
  • Perform thorough financial audits by recording payments against invoices, validating amounts, resolving discrepancies, and updating Salesforce and dashboards.
  • Assist the Project Finance team in the strategic opening and closing of international projects within Salesforce.

We're looking for

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (active full-time student status at a Hungarian university is required).
  • Strong practical proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace, with specific expertise in Excel and spreadsheet management. (Familiarity with Salesforce or Tableau is a plus).
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally in a workplace environment.
  • Preferably some prior work experience in finance (even if only for a few months).
  • Good communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week (ideally 30–40 hours) for a duration of 3–6 months.
  • Comfort with a hybrid/remote work setup, with approximately one office visit per week in Hungary (hardware/laptop provided).

What's in it for you?

  • A competitive compensation.
  • High degrees of responsibility and autonomy from day one.
  • An opportunity to learn, grow, and develop financial skills in an enthusiastic and supportive international environment.
  • A flexible remote working setup with all necessary equipment provided.
  • See your work have a tangible impact on health and education services every day.
