Medtronic’s Surgical Operating Unit is one new, powerful operating unit bringing together the people and product portfolio of Surgical Robotics and Surgical Innovations. With the Medtronic Mission as our North Star, we will build on our legacy of proven surgical solutions and advance the promise of robotics and digital solutions for the benefit of the customers and patients we serve.

Our R&D site in Munich was opened in 2025, replacing a R&D site in Wessling that has been active in the field of medical technology since 2013 and has been part of the Medtronic Surgical Robotics Group since 2016. We strive to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions.

With our approx. 80 employees at the Munich R&D site as part of the Robotic Surgical Technologies R&D Center of Excellence and our colleagues in the US, we set the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery and beyond by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity, diseases, and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and head and neck.

We want to constantly develop further. For this to succeed, we need the right people in our team. That’s why we are looking for you as an Intern / Trainee (f/m/d) for our Munich site.
