📅 September 1, 2026 - end date flexible (minimum duration 3 months)

Do you have a passion for communication and a fascination with artificial intelligence? Would you like to work directly with the Chief Communication and Brand Officer of Aegon on forward-looking projects exploring how AI is transforming the communications function? Then this joint internship with Aegon and the Scriptorium Initiative could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the Organizations:

Aegon’s Corporate Communication & Brand department focuses on building and maintaining a strong reputation and distinctive brand for Aegon and its subsidiaries—across both internal and external stakeholders—to support the company’s strategic objectives.

The Scriptorium Initiative is a non-profit think tank exploring how AI is reshaping human communication. By bringing together communication leaders, technologists, and researchers, the SI helps organizations navigate emerging challenges in language, trust, and meaning—bridging innovation with human-centered thinking.

Role Purpose & Position:

We are seeking a motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic intern with a strong interest in artificial intelligence and its impact on the communication function.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of the Scriptorium Initiative and work closely with Aegon’s communication team to explore how AI can enhance messaging, workflows, and stakeholder interaction. While your focus will be on AI and communication, you’re welcome to explore other projects handled by Aegon’s communication team, depending on your interests.

You’ll be juggling both creative and time-sensitive tasks, so the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting strategic planning and the long-term development of the Scriptorium Initiative project.
  • Assisting with the organization and execution of SI-hosted conferences and events.
  • Contributing to content creation, including writing and editing articles.
  • Providing administrative support (e.g. scheduling, document preparation, operational coordination).
  • Supporting Aegon’s communication team on various AI related projects.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant university-level or HBO program (e.g., communications, media, branding, creative business).
  • Available to start September 1st, 2026, for a period of at least 3 months.
  • Able to work full time, ideally at least 3 days per week from our Amsterdam office.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with an interest in emerging technologies.
  • Native or near-native English.

Terms:

  • The internship stipend is 650 EUR per month.
  • A personal laptop is provided for the length of your internship.
  • Personal guidance.
  • You will need a Dutch BSN-number and Dutch bank account.
  • If you are a non-EU/EER student, you will need a valid residence permit stating you may work (“arbeid vrij toegestaan”).
