At Grand Hyatt Barcelona, one of the city’s newest and most prestigious luxury hotels, we are looking for a motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented Admin Culinary Trainee to join our Culinary team.

In this role, you will support the administrative and operational functions of the Culinary department, ensuring efficient coordination of workforce planning, cost control, communication, and reporting processes. You will work closely with the Executive Chef, culinary leadership team, Finance, and Human Resources, contributing to the smooth operation of our kitchens and food & beverage outlets.

About The Role

As an Admin Culinary Trainee, you will provide administrative support to the Culinary department, assisting with labor cost control, workforce management, communication, training coordination, and operational reporting.

This is an administrative and operational support role in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will collaborate closely with different hotel departments to help ensure the successful execution of daily culinary operations and maintain the high standards expected at Grand Hyatt Barcelona.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control temporary workforce administration (ETTs), including the organization, verification, and monthly reconciliation of working hours
  • Assist with payroll and labor cost reporting in coordination with the Finance department
  • Monitor and maintain records of overtime hours, night shift hours, service charges, and employee gratuities
  • Track and report workforce-related incidents and operational staffing updates
  • Support the preparation of recipe costing sheets and food cost analysis for the hotel's restaurants, bars, and culinary outlets
  • Assist in the calculation and monitoring of product and menu costs to support profitability objectives
  • Coordinate training schedules, onboarding activities, and personnel-related matters in partnership with the Human Resources department
  • Provide administrative support to Executive Chefs and culinary managers, ensuring efficient departmental communication
  • Participate in operational and marketing meetings, taking notes and communicating relevant information and action plans to the culinary team
  • Distribute service orders and operational updates to ensure the smooth execution of daily kitchen operations
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and departmental documentation
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to culinary operations, cost control, and workforce planning

Qualifications

QualificationsRequirements & Profile

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong interest in hospitality operations, culinary administration, and cost control
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • Good analytical skills with an interest in labor and food cost management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multicultural environment
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus
